We have wonderful news for you today. Right now we are in Sweden and we have been here for one and a half week and we have some events left that we are excited about. Both me and Sebastian just feel that this is what we are called to do. To be out where the people are and be a light in this dark world. So far we have been able to reach thousands of people at the different events with the good news about Jesus Christ. This trip is also special in many ways as it is the first one with our yellow Buick Century and our first trip as a Chaplain for Team RFC, Racers For Christ.
We left home Monday, May 30th and took an over night ferry to Stockholm, Sweden. We arrived early in the morning so we had the whole day to cruise down to Rydaholm. June 1st we had the privilege to play and share at Rydaholm Bike Meet 2016 and this year they broke the old record. Over 650 motorcycles were counted and there were at least 1500 people there this wonderful summer night. The gospel was preached and people got to hear it. People who normally not visit the church. We did not only have a great time. The most important thing was that we had the grace to be part of what God did there that night. We stayed in Rydaholm for some nights and we also had a wonderful night of fellowship and BBQ with the brothers and sisters who arranged the bike meet.
Friday, June 3rd we drove to Skånes-Fagerhult. Another night when we played together with the band and we all had something to share. It was a wonderful night in many ways and it was the second time we visited Skånes-Fagerhult. We hope to be back next summer again.
We left Rydaholm and drove all the way up to Enköping. We checked in at Hotel Kompassen that is part of the church, Enakyrkan. This came to be our home for the next four nights. Sunday morning I had the privilege to share during their Sunday service and Monday was the main day. June 6th is the Swedish national holiday when the people celebrate their country. This day was something else. We were invited to be part of Fire Meet that was organized for the second year in a row. Can you imagine a church with a drag strip outside the church, hundreds of people having fun, live music, bbq and smoke from cars doing burn outs? I assume that many christians have a problem to grasp this scenario but this was something special. Most of the people who came were people who usually don’t go to church. They still came there because someone invited someone to come to church.
We live in a world that is happening today in many ways. So much negative things are taking place and people are so caught up in this world. People thing they do not need God as we live in welfare and we think we have everything. If we are going to reach souls for Jesus we have to use different tools to get peoples attention so they will come to church. This was a fantastic idea and we are so thankful to be part of it all. Over 500 people who normally don’t come to church came to church and they did not only have fun. Again, the most important thing was that they got to hear the Gospel and I saw many barriers break in peoples minds. There are barriers in peoples minds between them and us Christians and it is our fault. Over so many years we have made sure that we have to look better than the non christians and it is sad to realize that so many of us even have thought that we are better people because we are christians. Well, I am no better than anyone else. In God’s eyes we are all loved equally. The difference is the final destination and this is what we want to share with the rest of the world. Salvation, forgiveness and eternal life in heaven together with our creator!
It was with a thankful heart we left Enköping and drove here to Karlskoga where we had a fantastic meeting in the local Baptist Church last night. We have seen how the yellow Buick with John 316, Heaven TV7 and the LP foundation gets the peoples attention wherever we go. Many can not first understand that it is two christians driving around in that car but already when they see it a seed is planted in them. Soon the barriers starts to break down and when we get the opportunity to talk to people when they come to us it is hard to keep our mouths shut. So far this has been the best summer so far and the good thing is that it has just started.
As we are minimizing the visits in churches and congregations and taking the step to be out where the people are we have also minimized our possible incomes. This summer we are in a way bigger need of partners and sponsors than ever before because we are going to be out where the people are. It takes money to travel and be equipped with the tools we have. It takes money to organize these events and the truth is that we do not do anything else than what we do so we are totally depending on people who can be part of brining the Gospel to the people where they are. Today we are heading south west and tomorrow night we are rocking with the band in Vårgårda, in the middle of the time. There is a big American Car meet in Vårgårda this weekend and of course we want to be there and share the love of God to the people and break more barriers in peoples minds. We are just so blessed right now that it is hard to find words for it. It is so wonderful to see what God is doing in peoples lives and one day we will know what God has done through us during our life here on earth. Our final destination is heaven but before that we want to reach as many souls as possible with the good news about Jesus Christ. We want heaven to be full!
