Dear friends,
We left home, March 29th and drove down to Helsinki where we stayed one night at a campground. The following morning we got some very expensive diesel but we only filled up enough so we would make it to where we are now. We spent the 30 hours on the ship between Helsinki and Travemunde and when we arrived we drove to Eutin and stayed one night there outside the FeG Church.
We went there as the church let us use their address for some parcels we ordered for the tour. We got the new booklet printed in German and English that we can hand out to people. It is a short version of my testimony as well as a presentation of what we do. We also received more books and some cables, adapters and necessary stuff the kick off this two month tour.
We have now stayed two nights in Ivendorf, right outside Travemunde. The camping here is very good and we got a wonderful spot right next to their wifi tower. I have been doing my walks twice a day and been talking to God about the coming months and about all kind of things. I love walking by the ocean. It has been warm but it is still chilly.
Last night I was sitting grilling some steaks for me and Sebastian when I looked over the sky over the ocean. It got windy and dark clouds came towards us with the wind. I made a reflection about that darkness and when it got dark when Jesus died on the cross. Amos wrote about it 750 years before it happened: “On that day,” declares the Lord God, “I will make the sun go down at noon and darken the earth in broad daylight.” (Amos 8:9)
This entire season is all about Jesus—His suffering, death, and resurrection!
The Bible says that all people have sinned and are separated from God: “For all have sinned and fall short of the glory of God.” (Romans 3:23)
But God loved the world so much that He sent His Son: “For God so loved the world that He gave His one and only Son…” (John 3:16)
Jesus died on the cross for our sins: “But God demonstrates His own love for us in this: while we were still sinners, Christ died for us.” (Romans 5:8)
He died—but death did not have the final word: “He is not here; He has risen!” (Luke 24:6)
Through Him there is forgiveness and new life: “Everyone who believes in Him receives forgiveness of sins through His name.” (Acts 10:43)
Who wouldn’t want forgiveness of sins? Who wouldn’t want eternal life? We all have free will, and with that will we choose where we will spend eternity. Who wouldn’t want to go to heaven?
It is often said that there are no atheists on a sinking ship. However, I recommend not waiting until the ship starts sinking (when life is coming to an end). It can sink in a moment, and then there is no guarantee that you will even have time to think about Jesus.
The thief on the cross said: “Jesus, remember me when You come into Your kingdom.” With these words, he showed that he believed Jesus was the Son of God.
Jesus answered him: “Truly I tell you, today you will be with Me in paradise.”
The thief acknowledged his sin and guilt. He showed his faith in Jesus, and Jesus immediately gave him the promise of eternal life and salvation. A powerful example of grace rooted in the Word of God.
The thief had done nothing good. He was not respectable. He was neither baptized nor confirmed. He did not speak in tongues or prophesy. He repented of his sin and asked Jesus for forgiveness through faith in Him.
These are the good news we are here to share for two months. Even if we have not had any public meetings yet I have met people on my walks. The bus seems to create its own attention on the campground and we can share the message of Jesus anywhere. Still we have to use wisdom and love so we don’t push people further away from God.
The new Gospel Express album is out on all digital platforms and I have a new set list for this tour. This is very exciting and I can't wait to play some of the new songs life in front of an audience. Listen to the album on Spotify or on YouTube.
I am thankful that we came in early as it always takes time for me to land and now I feel that I have processed many things in my heart and mind that I needed to process before we start our missionary work. The big concern is what is going on in the world. I am not scared but the diesel prices is bothering me. At some places I saw that diesel in Germany was close to 2,70€ per liter. That is over one euro more per liter than we had planned. Well, those who wants to help are welcome to do so. The details are below as well as the confirmed dates.
We wish you a blessed Easter time!
Jesus is the reason for the season!
