PREACHING FROM A BOAT

We are back in Eustis, Florida after our first visit to Georgia and Alabama. It is sad as brother Todd Newkirk had worked hard to get us engaged in reaching people around the Columbus, GA area, but everything got cancelled due to the COVID-19. We still met some wonderful people that we are looking forward to work together with in the future. Friday I did one set of music at a wonderful hamburger restaurant called Ranger Burger. It was so slow so they had to close and the following day all restaurants closed and you can only get food as take away. Lots of people, workers and small businesses are suffering. The world is suffering, nothing is normal right now.

Most of us have read that Jesus did preach out of a boat. I never thought about doing that but today, brother Tom took us out on a boat ride. We took the equipment with us and drove to Silver Glen Springs. I did not know what to expect but it was such a wonderful place and lots of people. The weather was good and people kept distance from each other and it was all outdoors so there were no risk of passing on or catch the virus. Did a couple of sets of music and shared a little bit of my life. It was certainly an experience for life and I would not mind doing it again.

According to the original schedule we were meant to fly out on March 31st. People are panicking and people tell us to buy new tickets back home but there are two major issues. There are barely no flights that takes us from Orlando, Florida to Vasa, Finland and we have no money to buy new tickets with. It is a little bit frustrating that those who booked our flights first showed us one ticket but then booked a cheaper option. We can not even access our booking on-line due to a third party, a travel agent. All we can do is wait now.

There is lots of hype and talk about the Finnish airline Finnair flying evacuation flights and flying people back home to Finland. To me it is just a big scam as if they were evacuating us they would not sell tickets to a high price. Basically what they have done in Europe is that they have added several extra flights and sold tickets. It is what it is but we have to trust Jesus.

We are stuck here with not much to do and we are going to need financial help. How long we are going to be stuck here we don’t know but we pray and hope that we will be able to take a flight, March 31st as scheduled. Keep praying for us, help us if you can. I know the rich people don’t bother as the enemy has fooled them with riches of this world. Those who have little give from their hearts. Sad to say it but it is true. I have experienced in from the first row just recently. You can not serve both God and mammon.
