We left Moline, Illinois yesterday at 6AM and I was in a great mood from the morning. Somebody put a bag on my leather hat on the plane and I thought that was not the smartest thing to do. Well, we got to Memphis, Tennessee in an hour.
At the airport in Memphis we could really see what Memphis is known for; Elvis Presley and SUN records. There were lots of shops that sold Elvis stuff and most likely they do lots of money as well at it was not cheap, I am telling you. I did not buy anything even if it would have been nice to have the same sunglasses that Elvis had. To me it is weird that people spend that money on Elvis stuff, he IS dead. It is sad how people have other Gods. I know and might agree that Elvis was the king of rock and roll but the big difference between Elvis and Jesus is that Jesus is the king of kings and He is not dead any longer. He dide and rose again and we all are welcome to play in His band. Elvis and Starbucks, that was our 1 hour and 45 minutes in Memphis, Tennessee.
We arrived to Miami around 1PM and we got our rental car without any kind of problem. Actually the lady from Peru behind the counter thought that we needed a better and bigger car as we are on a mission from God. She gave us a Jeep for the same price as the small car that we had booked. I love nice people and big cars. It was first time for me to navigate myself around Miami and the town is way bigger than I thought. We took off towards Miami Beach but got lost after a while. We did not know where we were going so we decided to stop and get a GPS navigator as we are going to drive around Florida for the next 10 days. We got one cheap and realised that we were on our way south. Actually it was in our plan to buy a navigator as it is cheaper than renting one and then we have one for the next times as well. We drove down towards the keys and drove on a wonderful Highway 1 over Key Largo to Islamodora until it got dark. No idea and nothing to look at in Key West when it is dark and we were tired so we turned around and drove back up to Miami Beach to locate our hotel. There were three important things we had looked for when we booked this one;
1. Ocean view
2. Wireless internet
3. Low budget.
We could definitely see that it was a cheap hotel, it might have been good 50 years ago. They have wireless internet but only in the lobby. That was not what we had been excpecting. The ocean view, yes but it was dark.
Today I woke up and felt really good about not having to deal with the computer, e-mails and other stuff immediately from the morning. I got out on the balcony and sat down for a while praying and watching the Atlantic ocean. So beautiful and so pretty. Imagine that it is our heavenly Father who have created heaven and earth and what HE have done is adorable. I just love the sea!
Now we are moving forward and our next stop is Naples, FL.
God Bless
