Living a lifestyle of revival - by Rob Radosti Jr. - Part One

15 October 2009
O LORD, I have heard thy speech, and was afraid: O LORD, revive thy work in the midst of the years, in the midst of the years make known; in wrath remember mercy. (Hab. 3:2)

Living a lifestyle of revival is something that God wants to reestablish in every believer before the last great outpouring. In fact, it is the only thing which will allow the last great outpouring to take place! A lifestyle of revival does not mean a platform, but intimacy with God.
There are many things that the Lord will require of us to trust us enough with his manifest glory, but many of those things are simple things that should already be in place in the life of a believer. One of the number one things that MUST be in place is a scripture that every one of us probably knows by heart:

“Seek ye first the kingdom of God, and His righteousness” Matthew 6:33

Let’s just hold it right there for a minute. Now we know that the next part of this scripture says “and all these things shall be added unto you,” but what if they weren’t? Would we still be willing to seek His kingdom first? I believe that these final seasons we are coming into are going to require some serious changes in the lives of every believer. In this new season that is beginning, things are going to begin to take a deeper meaning. “Seek ye first the kingdom of God” is not going to mean “Oh, I need to pray first thing every morning” anymore. It is going to mean “Is there ANYTHING that I am putting before Him and His kingdom? ANYTHING!” We will begin to cry out to God to show us such things. Praying and worshipping first thing in the morning is good, but I know plenty of people who do that faithfully but then live the rest of their day for themselves, tangled in the affairs of life and not even giving God another thought except “God, when will I get a better job?” and “God, when will my life get better?” We are coming into a season now where if we are not carrying the JOY of our salvation and the Spirit of REVIVAL within us, we are going to fall by the wayside. Why? Because there are NO in-betweens. How expectant are you for what God is going to do?

Have you realized what He has already been doing in and through you? If you are not expectant each day, then you have NOT BEEN SEEKING HIS KINGDOM FIRST. I’ll say that again. If you are NOT EXPECTANT each day, you have not been seeking His kingdom first. There are days that I myself feel overcome by certain things and lose my expectancy and hunger for God. Usually, that is because I have failed to seek His kingdom first. In the book of Judges we read about Samson, and at many points, he struggled to put God’s kingdom first. We see in Judges chapter 15 that after God gave him a great victory, his only concern was dying of thirst! You see, Samson knew that God could do miracles, he had just enabled him to slay 1,000 men with the jawbone of a donkey! In those days, a donkey was very lowly and looked down upon (thus Jesus chose to display His kingship by riding into the city on one – a very humbled act). The fact that he had slain one thousand men with a jawbone of a donkey was very humiliating! As it says in 1 Corinthians 1:27 “God hath chosen the foolish things of the world to confound the wise, and God hath chosen the weak things of the world to confound the things which are mighty.” Talk about confounding the wise… God cause fresh water to come from the jawbone of the donkey for Samson! When we are living a lifestyle of revival, things that seem stupid or meaningless will be used powerfully by God – and He will show His glory through dry, dead things just like that jawbone! We must remain expectant, especially because it says in Judges 15 verse 19 “But God clave an hollow place that was in the jaw, and there came water thereout; and when he had drunk, his spirit came again, and he revived: wherefore he called the name thereof Enhakkore, which is in Lehi unto this day.” God is going to revive us with fresh water from heaven, but He will use some of the most unbelievable things to do it. If we are expectant to learn to live a lifestyle of Christ-centered revival – He will come and grant it! However, we MUST seek His kingdom first.
