What an adventure!

31 July 2024

Dear friends,

We have now been on the road for 44 days and it sure has been an adventure. Since I wrote last time lots have happened. We had a wonderful time in Viksjö at Mat & Nostalgi together with brother Stefan and his family. A place that means very much to us.
Me with brother Stefan

Wednesday, June 24th it was time for our second cruise in this summer and the weather forecast did not look so good but again God showed up and we had a wonderful summer evening in the sunshine. Many people came and it was wonderful to meet people who actually had came from other parts of the country.

Summer Wednesday in Viksjö, Sweden

When we do events outside the four walls of the church I do play secular music as a tool to get along with the crowd. Songs they know makes them listen and they become part of the evening. Evenings like this with American cars and BBQ it is always good to break the ice with some classic rock and roll.

Of course I play christian and spiritual songs as well and actually one of the Lynyrd Skynyrd covers I do could be on any christian labeled album as it has a pure message of Jesus Christ. The song is called Start living life again and it has such a powerful message.

We had such a wonderful evening and we gave away over 100 books. People came to talk afterwards and I ended the evening with two very important songs to me. Thankful and Amazing Grace.

We left the following day and drove to Edsbyn where we parked the bus outside brother Ulf’s house. From there we took Ulfs car and drove to Smyrnakyrkan, one of the local churches. I set up my gear outside the church next to the street and started to play during one of their cruising events.

The weather had not been that good but again when we came in and set up our gear we had sunshine. I played a few sets and many beautiful American and other classic cars where cruising on the street next to where we set up. We gave away more books and had good talks with people.

Afterwards brother Ulf took us out to eat at one of the local pizza joints and when we sat down inside and had our meal the rain started to pour down outside. Again we just felt that God was making a way for us to be out there in the good weather and tell people about Jesus. We are NOT ashamed of the Gospel. It is a privilege to preach the Gospel.

After we were done we drove to our home place in this area and parked the bus outside Betel in Runemo. A church that we love very much. We use this place as our base while we are in this part of Sweden.

Missionskyrkan in Bollnäs, Sweden

On Friday, brother Ulf picked us up and drove us to Missionskyrkan in Bollnäs where we had a Friday night open church event and concert. It was such a great evening and there were people that needed to be there. I had a blast sharing my testimony and playing music for over two hours.

Sometimes it just happens and there are people coming in who God has sent. I love to sit down with people after an evening and listen to how God has touched them. It is nothing I can do in my own strength. All I can do is to share my life story and give encouragement from the word of God. God is doing the rest and it is so wonderful to see people receive hope and encouragement in their different hard situations.

Brother Ulf and Sebastian in Runemo, Sweden

Saturday we had a day off and it was raining out, so we basically just spent time with our parrots, made some food and organized stuff in the bus. Being on the road for a long time also means that we have lots of clothes and other things with us and every now and then we need to organize things and keep the bus nice and clean.

A late night swim in Runemo, Sweden

On Sunday morning I had the honor to share and sing at the Betel church. It was a wonderful morning and there were several people in the church for the first time. I played some samples from the coming Rockabilly album in Swedish as well as shared what God laid upon my heart.

Brother David Duveskog in Betel, Runemo

Brother David preached about to not be ashamed of the Gospel and it became such a powerful moment. I was so thankful at the end when they laid hands on me and prayed for us and our work in the future. We ended with wonderful fellowship and lunch.

Betel, Runemo

While we have been in Runemo I have also been able to do some walking as well as swimming in a beautiful lake. It is so refreshing to take a swim in the evening before I go to bed.

Monday it was time for our last event in Swede for this time. It was the second time we were doing outreach at the town festival called Grillnatta together with the local churches in Bollnäs. Last year we had heavy rain but this year the weather was perfect.

Brother David Duveskog in Bollnäs, Sweden

The stage was set up in the heart of the city and we had a table with books close to the stage. I did three sets of music and shared my life story as well as played music. Again I saw how the secular music made people stop by and listen and between the songs I shared the Gospel and part of my life story. It was amazing to see that they did not leave when I started to talk about Jesus.

We had good talks with people and brother David was also speaking as well as some of the others from the local church who had been doing all the preparations. It was a wonderful evening in many ways. We gave away at least 100 books.

Grillnatta in Bollnäs, Sweden

When we were done we packed our gear, said bye to our brothers and sisters. Brother Ulf took us out for pizza again and then back to the bus.

On Tuesday we drove from Runemo to Umeå where we slept one night at a campground and this morning we drove to the harbor of and took the ferry back home to Vasa, Finland.

Leaving Runemo for this time

Now we are done and it has been such a long race but when I look back the troubles we have had does not bother me anymore. God has connected us with new people and new doors are open for the future. We have also managed to work on the Swedish album during the tour so the music is sent to Los Angeles where Johnny Hatton will play bass and Rodger Carter will play drums. We are scheduling the release late September and the singe will be out earlier.

Our bird crew

Right now we are already working on next tour of Sweden starting September 25th in Munfors and from there we continue to Säffle. We are excited to return to Sweden and share the good news with people as we release our first album ever in Swedish. I am looking forward to finish the project and get back on the road.

We are also booking dates in Germany for the spring and we have a good foundation already now. Lots of things are going on and we hope you all will stand behind us in prayers for the future. Now as we are between two tours I will take some time off and get out in our beautiful archipelago.

God Bless You All!
