Nobody complained in Nordhorn!

On Friday, April 10th the church we are working with had a special youth event that they let over to me and I shared my life together with my acoustic guitar. One thing that has been on my mind since is a question from one of the youth. We always give the youth an opportunity to ask questions. Sometimes they want to ask funny questions but this one was deep:

I was speechless for a moment before I answered and later I was thinking that answering this question to this youth could be the reason we came to Nordhorn. I simply said that I do not have an answer other than we need to stand on the promises that are in the The Bible. The Bible is the word of God and that is one of the most important ways the God uses to talk to us. Then of course we have the Holy Spirit speaking to us in many different ways and yes, sometimes it can be hard to hear God and we all have doubt in different situations. I think this was a deep question and it takes courage to ask something like that in front of everybody.

Monday evening we had our first pub, Domspatz in Nordhorn. We went in, set up and started to deliver some rock and roll in the smoky atmosphere. In between the songs I shared my life story, spoke about Jesus and people listened. It was a wonderful evening and people were happy. Nobody complained that I spoke about Jesus.

During the week we worked on the bus and installed the power station that was gifted to us by a very dear brother. We are soon self sufficient on energy and that will help us on the road. Our food will stay fresh in the fridge on long routes and we can even stay one night without electricity. The next step is to get solar panels and we are pretty covered up.

On Friday brother Guido came and picked me up and took me to the prison in Lingen, half an hour fro Nordhorn. We were escorted through the gates to the facility church where I set up my gear.

The inmates came and I started with some music and mixed my life story with music and words that God laid upon my heart. It was so wonderful to be able to go in there and deliver some hope. The hope we have in Christ, who can change our lives. My encouragement to the inmates were that they have time to get to know Jesus and study the Bible and get to know Jesus by reading with the mind focused on Jesus. What did Jesus do? What did Jesus say? How did Jesus act. We have to become more and more like Him.

When we were done in the prison we drove back to Nordhorn, picked up Sebastian and straight to next pub. We set up and I started to play some music and share my life story. It is always important for me to talk about the eternal life and that Jesus is the only way to eternal life in heaven. Again, people were happy and nobody complained about me coming there talking about Jesus.

On Saturday we were picked up by brother Ayron and taken downtown. We took our stuff from the car and found our first spot outside some street cafés close to the shopping center at Kaufland. I followed German law and did some music and preached for 30 minutes. It was amazing to see people stop up and listen from a distance. Some even came forward with a smile on their face.

After the first half hour we walked to the shopping street, set up and started another set of outreach. Through my sunglasses I could see that people actually listened to the message and that is why we are doing this. How can people hear if nobody preach? Again nobody complained about me speaking about Jesus.

We grabbed some food and returned to the bus for a quick break and brother Ayron picked us up for our third pub this week. It was a really nice location but not so many people when we started but people came in and I am sure the message was heard. Sometimes people try to not show that they are listening but I can see when they are listening. Nobody complained about all the talks about Jesus.

Yesterday we did a short trip over the border to The Netherlands and did some grocery shopping. Brother Guido picked us up from the bus early evening and took us to the church. I set up my gear and at 7pm we started our final event here in Nordhorn.

We had a different service but it was wonderful. I could feel the presence of Jesus in the church and there were those holy moments when you just felt that He was there touching peoples hearts. We also had som good laughs and it became a wonderful evening for our 12 days here in Nordhorn. Thank you Ayron, Guido with family and the Christengemeinde for having us back.

Soon we are starting our journey towards Nurnberg. Today we drive a little bit over half way. We have two stops before we arrive in Nurnberg. On Wednesday we are going to visit Musikhaus Thomann, a place we always visit when we can.

We are still in the beginning of our tour and what should I say. So far so good. There has been some distractions but that is normal as we know that the enemy is not happy about that people get to hear about Jesus at different places outside the church. This is the place I want to be. Jesus has done so much for me and this is my purpose. He gave me a new life and I am so thankful for these 19 years of grace and I hope for more. All is in God’s hands!
