Yesterday, october 17th we took our Harley Davidson out for the last ride for the season and took her in to the garage over the winter. We would like to share our biker season 2009 in words and pictures with you´ll.
The season started allready in april when the sea still were frozen. It is much more fun riding in the cold after the winter than after the summer. This might have to do with the enthusiasm after a few months off the roads during the cold winter season, I guess.
This season was also the first season we took a longer ride and at end of april we headed south on the finnish roads towards Turku to take the ferry over to Stockholm, Sweden. In Stockholm we attended the yearly "Jesusmanifestationen" together with other bikers from Sweden.
We also had the honor to be guests in Swedish television and we got 12 minutes where we told millions of people about something much more important than motorcycles: Jesus Christ.
In june there were lots of stuff going on. The Harley Davidson day of Kokkola was the first one we attended and after that we had our own Ambassador meeting in Vasa, Kvevlax and Närpes. As usual we had the priviledge to have pastor Ulf Mannebäck from Church on Wheels with us and we all had a great time.
The week after we did our second long trip and went back to Sweden. This time we took the ferry from Helsinki and also spent some time in Helsinki before we left the country.
In Stockholm we hooked up with members from Heavens Bikers and Tyfri MC and finally we arrived at Bjärka Säby where Church on Wheels had their summer meeting. This was our first Church on Wheels meeting and I got to play music and share my testimony. We are looking forward to be back there next summer.
On our way back we spent some more time with Janne, Clarence, Lasse and Jari, all biker brothers from Stockholm and I have to say that I really love these brothers.
In july we gave away Bibles at the local Thunder Machine Bike Show in Vasa and made connections with the local people. This time we also had our new Ambassador brother David Ekfors with us. We are happy to have him on board.
Beside the oridinary daily trips on the bike we also travelled to different events without bike. On my birthday we attended mcparkonly meet in Hjo, Sweden and that was fun.
In october Ulf Mannebäck came to Finland to establish a connection between Church on Wheels and the other biker clubs in Finland so we spent a week together on the finnish roads.
I am really blessed to know other brothers and sisters from Gospel Riders, Preacher MC and Gods Squad. We have the same thing in mind, to be soldiers for Jesus and we can never be too many. I really think this Church on Wheels relationship will bring this community to another level in the future.
Yesterday it was time take the last ride for the season and we took her into the garage. I am going to miss getting out on the roads on two wheels but after this winter there is a new summer coming up. We are allready making plans for next summer an I am telling you, it is going to be such a great one.
We are praying for revival within the biker community!
Another thing I would like to share with you right here right now is the fact that I was never interested in motorcykles or bikers before I met God. In my past I had played biker rallies and events, but I never thought about being a biker myself.
It was after I got a prophetic word from an older lady about my ministry and that I had to thing big and global Jesus connected me with my brothers and sisters from The Ambassadors For Jesus Christ motorcycle ministry in Texas, USA I felt God calling me to be an Ambassador for Jesus Christ.
These bikers they did not look christian at all and now when I have seen the big differens between religion and christianity I totally understand. First I thought it was funny when hairy tattoed men stood up preaching the word of God but now I totally get it as I am one of those myself. We might look wild but there were also several wild people in the Bible. Peter was one of them and I guess Jesus was the most radical of them all.
To be on the road with a cross on my back has been a blessing not only to myself. I have had the honor to share my life with more people that I ever could have imagined. If you are smart you can think yourself. How do you reach the younger generation today? With straight pants and a tie? May be, but a big bike with loud pipes are allways a good thing to start a discussion about where ever you are.
This biker thing has also brought me and my son closer to eachother and during our trips we have met so many new friends that we really love. All this is because we made up our minds and said YES, we want to follow you Jesus.
